Born in Mexico City and forged under the Texas sun, Gran Moreno channels the pulse of the desert and the fire of the soul into pure psychedelic rock alchemy. Now rooted in Austin, the band has emerged as one of the city’s most electrifying new acts, lighting up stages at Levitation and Ripple Fest with their explosive performances.
Their upcoming album, El Sol, captures that same intensity — a blazing journey of fuzz, rhythm, and transcendence, where Spanish lyricism meets cosmic soundscapes. With every show, Gran Moreno turns sound into ceremony and emotion into light.

The insomniac isn’t unable to sleep, the insomniac CHOOSES to evade sleep. We all fall down at some point, but between the waking world and our dreams exists the surreal.
Some of the world’s most creative visionaries, such as Dalí and Edison, would hold an object, like a spoon or a ball, while falling asleep in a chair. As they drifted off, the object would fall, make a noise, and wake them up. Having spent a few moments on the brink of unconsciousness, they would be ready to start their work.
Such is Insomniac. A band that exists between this world and the next. The band's first single Mountain from the upcoming album Om Moksha Ritam releases in June via Blues Funeral Recordings.

These heavy rockers have released three full lengths alongside a pair of EP’s and toured both Europe and the States since their formation in 2012. The band is a product of diverse influences, and though they draw from the classics like Black Sabbath, Sleep and Motorpsycho, if one listens closely they can hear hints of thrash metal and Skandirock fleshing out the sound. It makes for a unique group who are determined to head out and take on the world.
